According to
The Internet Antique Shop host of Kovels,
there are a few simple rules for buying antiques and collectibles safely
online:
1.
Know your dealer.
Hi, I am Anthony Wayne
Harden, Florida native and President of Florida's oldest bottle club, the
Antique Bottle Collectors of North Florida.
I have been a hobby collector and dealer since the late 70's. I hold
individual membership in as well as club membership in the Federation of Historical
Bottle Collectors. Our club has been
a continuing supporter of the
Museum of Southern History
where we meet monthly to share bottle discoveries and stories.
2. How long has the merchant been
selling online?
I began showcasing my
collection on the world wide web in 1996. I work full time for the
School Board and do bottle trading as a hobby. All proceeds from the
sale of the bottles go towards the feeding and care of homeless and
abandoned animals.
3. Always check for a return policy.
I have established a
satisfaction guaranteed or money back policy since showcasing the bottles.
To date I have only had satisfied customers.
4. Make sure payments are secure.
I accept mailed
payments in the form of check or money order. I no longer accept PayPal.
5. If you have questions about an item
ASK!
If you would like to
see more detailed pictures of an item, just ask! I have consistently
tried to describe items exactly as they appear. I am also available to
discuss any item at 904-781-2620.
6. Make sure that you know what the
shipping costs are going to be.
I normally send
packages by USPS and, to save you money, only insure upon request. One bottle normally
mails for anywhere from $2.50-5.00 depending on the size of the bottle.
There is no "handling charge".
